Thank You! - ICT Suites transform lives of Filipino children

NCI teamed up with disaster relief charity 'Byond' to support the school re-building projects in the Philippines and appealed for companies and schools to donate IT equipment and educational resources.  With thanks to the companies that donated their second-hand kit, NCI and Byond have started to transform lives and installed ICT Suites in two new schools so children can learn vital IT skills for better work prospects that create futures and protect communities.

Education Director, Andy Trish has just returned from the Philippines where he delivered ICT Suites to schools comprising 34 computers, mice, keyboards, and a server each.

Many thanks to the fantastic donations received - please do keep them coming in!

Andy reports: "It certainly opened my eyes," he said. "We went to visit a number of schools while we were out there and each time we asked the head teachers ‘what do you want? What is at the top of your list?' and – not forgetting children out there are not being fed; they don't have fresh water; they don't have any books because they were soaked or wiped out by the typhoon – the number-one thing on their list is computers.
