Two cloud giants, ShoreTel and Mitel, join forces!

On the 25th of September Mitel announced the completion of its $530 million acquisition of ShoreTel. For NCI customers there will be no significant changes or disruption to cloud telephony and ongoing services in the short-term. Support for all ShoreTel products will continue throughout their lifecycle.

All instances of ShoreTel will be re-branded to Mitel over-time as quickly as possible, ShoreTel’s website has already been switched to Mitel. Combined, both companies will be able to provide a stronger service and will be well positioned to take both partners and customers to the cloud, enabling growth simply and seamlessly.

Software platforms, maintenance and patches will continue to be serviced and no short-term impact is foreseen. Mitel has stated that any long-term changes will be clearly communicated to partners and customers. There are plans to issue a full statement on their combined strategy in early 2018 but for now it is business as usual. The company will be continued to be led by Mitel’s President and Chief Executive Officer Rich McBee.

The acquisition leaves Mitel positioned as the #2 player in the global UCaas market and the #1 leader in Europe. Going forward Mitel aims to continue to provide seamless and simple cloud communications and collaboration solutions for customers.
