Schools Case Studies
Brent Start approached NCI Technologies to source suitable and reasonably priced Virtual Reality (VR) and Augmented Reality (AR) equipment to help them form an alternative learning initiative for ESOL/literacy learners. The new VR and AR equipment would help them to deliver a range of role play language-based scenarios through VR simulations, facilitated by a tutor during class time. Find out how we helped give learners a VR boost by working with Brent Start to launch ‘The Virtual Pod’ based in Stonebridge, London.
Camelford Primary School was an existing client of NCI Technologies. The school desperately needed to expand to cope with the rising demand for school places within the area. So, when the schools expansion plan for three additional classrooms was approved, they turned to NCI Technologies to help support them with their additional networking, wireless and interactivity requirements.
NCI Technologies was approached by St Mark’s to rectify a failure in their existing IT systems. NCI provided sound advice and a maintenance support contract to minimise any future risk to the school’s data. After solving the school’s main vulnerabilities, NCI was able to help the school to focus on improving their ICT provision. This enabled the school to replace its ailing ICT suite, laptops, and server as well as installing interactive smart-board screens
We created a bespoke ICT Suite to transform the school's technology hub. A custom made, ergonomically designed suite was built to maximise space, comfort, safety and the expansive use of the upgraded computing equipment - accessible for all pupils.
Gatehouse ACE Academy wanted to upgrade their wireless to ensure a strong connection across the school and to empower a greater use of wireless devices and ICT.
Innovative technologies such as interactive touchscreens were installed to enhance pupil collaboration and create fantastic learning benefits aimed at raising standards, in particular, improving engagement with their online maths programme.
A dramatic connectivity improvement with Ruckus Smart Wifi for St Columb Minor. Maggie Simpson, ICT Technician told us: "The first major difference was logging onto the laptops! Before Ruckus, when a class used the 16 laptops from the trolley for their lesson it was a total nightmare, sometimes taking the whole lesson just logging on! That all changed, and we could actually teach ICT lessons!"
Michele Bacchus, Director of Business and Finance reports: "I was fascinated by the cute, humanoid robot when I witnessed it talking, dancing and quizzing the audience at NCI's SchoolTech Show. We purchased several robots for use throughout the school and the results so far have been excellent."
Marlborough are one of NCI's first customers and we have worked closely with them to develop and advance their ICT. The school has also benefited from our complete school internet services which has been a fantastic success in fact in April 2014 the school were rated 'Outstanding' by OFSTED.
